Summer BreakSpot offers free, healthy meals to kids and teens throughout the summer at convenient locations throughout our community. Two Fish Food Market will once again serve as a site for Gulf County. Meal Distribution will begin no later than June 9th with pick up during Two Fish Food Market operating hours of Tuesday and Wednesday from 10-4 and Saturday from 9-12.

There's no application or registration required.

Every Tuesday from June 2nd through August 4th. Begins at 10:00 AM until they run out of boxes.

Seniors can enjoy free daily lunches through the Gulf County Senior Citizens Association after completing a short assessment. Contact the center for more information.

Silver Hearts Senior Citizens Center in Wewahitchka provides free meals daily for seniors.

Franklin County Senior Citizens Center offers lunches daily for a $10 donation.

Potentially eligible participants do not have to be on a public assistance program to qualify for WIC services. In our current economy, inflation and rising food costs have created many financial challenges for Florida families. It is times like these that reinforce the importance that eligible Floridians utilize nutrition services, including WIC.

To be eligible for WIC, you must be a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, a woman up to six months postpartum, an infant, or a child under age five. In addition, the applicant must have a low or moderate income, live in Florida, and have a nutrition need that can be helped by WIC foods, nutrition education, and counseling. WIC also provides breastfeeding support and referrals for health care. WIC nutritionists work directly with mothers to educate them about what is best for their baby and their family’s nutrition needs while encouraging them to build healthy habits.

DCF also provides the MyACCESS Program for individuals and families, which includes:

-Public Assistance related to eligibility for food (SNAP), SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.   (For faxing to Public Assistance Programs, use 850-747-5346.)

-Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF): The Temporary Cash Assistance program provides financial assistance to pregnant women in their third trimester and families with dependent children to assist in the temporary payment of rent, utilities, and other household expenses.

-Medicaid: The Medicaid Program provides medical assistance to individuals and families in need to cover or assist in the cost of medically necessary services.

• Community Resource Center (CRC) open M-TH 8am-4pm operated out of Washington High School’s 305/307 classrooms.
• Currently support their CRC positions, including coordinator and employment services positions along with funding for emergency assistance payments.
• Staff assist with emergency and employment assistance; connecting employers and job seekers, job training, services to support individuals in becoming self-sufficient, SNAP and FarmShare services. They also fund training for those who are eligible under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

-Location services as a MyACCESS site with public computer to apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid and temporary cash.

-Get access to job training opportunities, job application support and more.

-Utility help with a electric or water bill for eligible applicants

--Resource assistance through the Hope program for eligible applicants looking for rental support.

-Port St. Joe Summer Camp

--Connection to Food Pantry Access in partnership with Second Harvest:

First Tuesday of the Month: Last Names A-I, Fourth Tuesday of the month, Last Names J-Z. This is a drive-thru style food pantry, from 1:00-3:00 pm. You will see a sign. If this is your first time, it's okay to get in the line. You'll be asked to fill out a form. Participants must meet income requirements, but ID and proof of income are not required.

Two Fish Food Market, is a local food pantry and ministry of First United Methodist Church, located at 212 Williams Avenue, Port Saint Joe (across from St Joe Hardware).

Serving Franklin County Residents. If you go on Facebook and look up, "Franklin County Food Pantry", there are upcoming dates listed for food distribution. Call to find out more information.

This program provides access to food in Carrabelle for eligible individuals and families. When you call, they ask that you please leave a message if you do not get connected to a person right away.

Capital Area is ready to assist those eligible families who need help paying their electric bills or finding stable housing. The Agency can help eligible clients weatherize their homes so residents can better afford food or medicine.

The Getting Ahead program works with individuals and families to help work out of poverty. The Agency’s curriculum assists clients in better understanding the causes of poverty, setting life goals and providing support to help them work out of poverty to a life that is thriving.

Farm Share start Times for pick up in Eastpoint, Carrabelle, and Lanark Village.

Start times will be posted each week. We are always dependent on delivery times. In order to ensure safe food, we will begin distribution as soon as the food is divided and packaged. We base our division on the average number of families per week.

Once a month, we distribute at Kendrick Park in Carrabelle at 9am.

The First Baptist Church Of Eastpoint in Franklin County Florida provides a critical source of food assistance to people in Eastpoint who are experiencing food insecurity and are unable to afford sufficient food.

SHARE YOUR HEART Volunteer Chaplaincy Program - Trained volunteer chaplains are ready to respond to referrals for assistance of food, clothing, essential supplies, spiritual and emotional support within 48 hours.

Fresh fruit and vegetables that can be purchased with SNAP/EBT. They also accept the Fresh Access Bucks which help you get fresh Florida grown vegetables and fruit for free.
